T-Mobile announced the extension of its free in-flight Wi-Fi offer to passengers traveling on select domestic and short-haul international flights operated by United Airlines.

The move, as part of the mobile operator’s Coverage Beyond program that is already available on select flights operated by American Airlines, Alaska Airlines, and Delta Air Lines. The service gives T-Mobile customers the ability to text, search, send and receive e-mail, and stream movies and videos during the entire course of the flight.

“T-Mobile customers can stay connected from takeoff to landing and beyond on hundreds more flights, now including United Airlines,” said T-Mobile’s CEO, Mike Sievert, in a statement.

Customers receive free in-flight Wi-Fi for four entire flights of their choice per year.  On other flights, they receive one free hour.

Coverage Beyond is available on United’s Boeing 737 aircraft including newer 737 Max jets, as well as select Boeing 757-300s and select A319s with Wi-Fi supported by Viasat and Thales InFlyt Experience.  Customers with Coverage Beyond also receive free data in over 210 countries and destinations.
